1st grade enjoyed learning about what food comes from different plants and animals during AG in the classroom!




2nd grade students began a new Reading unit learning about Westward expansion. Today, they created paper lanterns and measured out the size of a covered wagon bed to better envision what it was like on this journey across the United States.

2nd grade students have been learning about different cycles in nature in Reading. Today, they got to further explore with water and the water cycle using a water table, creating a water cycle in a bag, and making water cycle bracelets.










1st grade learned about floating gardens in reading so we did a floating and sinking activity with different objects to understand how the gardens worked.






1st grade enjoyed making salt dough sculptures in reading! They had to pick something to make from the ancient civilizations we have talked about focusing on kings, temples, maize, and big cities where festivals take place.

1st grade made brownies after discussing goods and services in social studies. We talked about goods that are produced in Iowa and goods that are imported in so we can still have and make the things we want like chocolate, we have to trade to get cocoa powder in order to make brownies since Iowa doesn't produce cocoa beans.

2nd grade students had a guest from North Central Iowa Ag in the Classroom speak to them about soybeans and their importance in various products we use each day. They tested their knowledge with a trivia game at the end.







1st grade talked about King Tut and made their own mummies in reading and talked about what treasures they would want buried with them.
